The 2011 fair ended with a great concert of Friday night and fast action, hard hitting demo derby action of saturday! We added some pics of these venets and more!
The Rodeo at the Effingham county fair once again brought horse broncing and bull riding action to the grandstand. not only did the cowboys give us their best, but so did all the animals!
Melissa Melendorf Crowned County Fair Queen
In front of a packed grandstand 11 queen candidates and a troupe of Zumba dancers put on a great show. The fair contest was well attended not only by the residents of effingham county, but by over 30 fair queens from around illinois. The effingham pageant had a surprise in store not only for the visiting royalty, but for pageant workers and announcers when the entire stage was lead in a zumba routine.
But the highlights of the night were the little miss contestants and of course the queen contestants. CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES OF THE pageant. The judges agreed Mariah Ludtke was the second runner up, shelby mcfarland was the first runner up and melissa melendorf was crowned the 2011 effingham county fair queen. congratulations melissa.

2011 Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Action
The roar of trucks and tractors filled the air over Altamont a few days earlier than most years as the Effingham County Fair added a Friday Night as a start night for the fair and the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour put on a great show for the fans. 17 Rockstar Super Modified 2WD Trucks, 19 Pro Stock Tractors and 7 Light Weight Super Stock Tractors competed in front of the grandstand. Area drivers Jared Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, Jordan Nelson and Nick McCormick all competed in the pull.

Premier Crop Insurance 10,000 Pro Stock Tractor
Light weight Super Farm Tractors
Competitors will include ROCKSTAR SUPER MODIFIED 2WD TRUCK drivers Jordan Nelson driving Midnight Madness and Jared Nelson driving Rockstar Energy Drink. Both men are from altamont il. maybe they will have a little home track advantage.
